A United Airlines Boeing 757 lost a wheel of the main landing gear during takeoff from Los Angeles airport, Reuters writes, citing a statement from the carrier, UNN reports .

No one was injured in the accident, and the plane landed in Denver. There were 179 passengers and seven crew members on board.

United Airlines will investigate the accident. The circumstances of the incident will also be examined by the US Federal Aviation Administration, ABC TV channel reports.
