Bloomberg notes that the lawsuit will be the third time in the last 14 years that the agency has sued Apple for violating antitrust laws. The agency specifies that the new lawsuit will be filed as part of US President Joe Biden's fight with the American tech giants.
The last time the US Department of Justice sued Apple was in 2012. Back then, the lawsuit was related to the increased prices for digital books. According to the court decision, Apple had to pay compensation in the amount of $450 million.
