A well-known Kyiv blogger has been served a notice of suspicion of intentional tax evasion of over UAH 200 million. He used part of the money to purchase luxury real estate and premium cars. UNN reports this with reference to the Prosecutor General's Office.
The OGP does not name the blogger, but the photos make it clear that it is a 25-year-old dollar millionaire, Oleksandr Slobozhenko.
Under the procedural supervision of prosecutors of the Prosecutor General's Office, the head of the company, a well-known Kyiv blogger, was served a notice of suspicion of intentional tax evasion on a large scale and legalization of the proceeds of crime (Part 3 of Article 212, Part 1 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)
According to the investigation, from January 2020 to August 2023, he acquired virtual assets in cryptocurrency, which, according to the official NBU exchange rate at the date of receipt of funds, is equivalent to more than a billion hryvnias.
The blogger received the funds from the business activities of an unregistered company that provides services for the so-called arbitration of Internet traffic.
"In order to conceal the amount of income actually received, the suspect transferred funds into cryptocurrency using payment systems and electronic wallets registered in his and his authorized persons' names. Subsequently, the funds were cashed and received at currency exchange offices in Kyiv and other cities," the Prosecutor General's Office said.
All the acquired assets were not reflected in the declarations of property and income for 2020-2023, and no taxes were paid on them.
In this way, the suspect evaded paying taxes to the budget in the total amount of UAH 213 million. He legalized part of these funds by purchasing luxury real estate and premium cars
In order to conceal the acquired property, the blogger registered the ownership of his close relatives and persons close to him.
Measures are currently being taken to identify other participants in the crime and serve them with a notice of suspicion.
