Thousands of trucks are waiting to enter Ukraine from Poland due to protests by Polish carriers; queues at other checkpoints have also increased due to the blockade

About three thousand trucks are waiting to enter Ukraine from Poland at the checkpoints blocked by the Polish carriers' action, the State Border Guard Service spokesman Andriy Demchenko said on Monday during a telethon, UNN reports.

Unfortunately, the blockade continues in three directions. Let me remind you that these are the Yahodyn-Dorokhusk, Krakivets-Korchova and Rava-Ruska-Krebenne checkpoints. As of this morning, according to the information we have from our Polish colleagues, there are about 2,900 trucks in the queues in Poland heading to Ukraine. Most of them are in front of Krakivets - 1200, in front of Yagodyn - about 1100 trucks, and in front of Rava-Ruska - about 600

, - said Demchenko.

Details

According to the SBGS spokesman, this data may be incomplete, "because other trucks may be further away - at a certain distance from the border."

Due to the blockade, queues at other checkpoints have also increased. "In particular, there are about 1,300 trucks in front of the Shehyni checkpoint and a total of 300 trucks in front of the Uhryniv, Ustyluh and Smilnytsia checkpoints," Demchenko said.

He also noted that the protesters let several trucks through per hour - both to leave Poland and to enter - "but this does not solve all the necessary issues regarding the traffic intensity."

Addendum

On November 6, Polish carriers launched a protest  near three checkpoints on the Polish-Ukrainian border. Among the demands of the Polish carriers is the return of the need for Ukrainian carriers to obtain permits to enter the European Union. They also want Polish carriers not to be forced to stand in an electronic queue on the territory of Ukraine or insist on a separate queue for empty trucks.
