Syrian President Bashar Assad and members of his family have arrived in Moscow, according to Russian media reports, as reported by UNN.
Russian media, citing a source in the Kremlin, report that Assad and his family are currently in Moscow, and Russia has provided them with refuge.
Update
Syrian rebels, who have made significant progress in their offensive since last week, announced on December 8 the capture of the capital Damascus and reported the fall of ruler Bashar Assad. The Syrian President himself has fled the country.
The Syrian Air plane on which Assad was fleeing disappeared from radar. There was a version that the plane might have been shot down and Assad died in the plane crash.
Later, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that Russia used disinformation about the disappearance of the Il-76T plane from radar to cover up the evacuation of Bashar Assad.
