The Association of Sports Journalists has named the greatest Ukrainian athlete of all time - fencer Olga Harlan. This is stated on the website of the ASJU, UNN reports.

It is noted that Harlan won a gold medal in the team competition at the Olympic Games in Paris, as well as bronze in the individual competition. Thus, Harlan became the most decorated Ukrainian athlete in the history of the Games, with six awards to her credit.
Adding to her Olympic achievements 6 gold medals at the World Championships, including four individual golds, 8 gold medals at the European Championships, two golds at the European Games, and 5 times finishing the season at the top of the world rankings, it becomes clear that this is the career of the most outstanding athlete in Ukrainian sport. And at the same time, one of the most charismatic athletes who was not afraid to speak out against the discriminatory system of the International Fencing Federation and, with her resilience and position, earned an automatic license to the Olympics from the IOC President.
