The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Crimea called this incident a "deliberate provocation."
"We are convinced that this crime could not have been committed by a person of faith, regardless of their views. An attempt on a sacred place - the arson of a minbar - is an absolutely unacceptable act for any believer,"
