Former Russian Deputy Defense Minister Dmitry Bulgakov was detained and arrested in Moscow as part of a criminal case on corruption. This was reported by the Russian media with reference to the FSB, UNN reports .

Russian media report that Dmitry Bulgakov is suspected of embezzlement on a particularly large scale. Three other people are involved in his case.
Bulgakov served as Deputy Minister of Defense from 2008 to September 2022, and was awarded the title of Hero of Russia in 2016.

In April of this year, Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov was arrested in a corruption case. As reported by a source of UNN, the detention and arrest of Timur Ivanov was made possible by the work of the active action unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu was not included in the new Russian government and became secretary of the Russian Security Council, while his former deputies were dismissed.
