After an incredible comeback, the Ukrainian wrestler from Brovary lost to the Olympic champion.

In her first fight at the Olympic Games in Paris, Ukrainian wrestler Alina Grushyna-Akobiya from Brovary in the 57 kg weight category made an incredible comeback and snatched victory in the last seconds. However, in the second fight, she lost to 2016 Olympic champion Helen Marulis, UNN reports.

In the 1/8 finals, our athlete's rival was former Ukrainian Angelina Lysak, who now competes under the Polish flag.

A minute before the end of the match, Alina Grushina-Akobia was trailing 6:13, but managed to pull out a victory.

"Our Alina Grushyna-Akobiya started her performance at the Olympics today with an incredible victory in the 1/8 finals! In her first fight, our wrestler faced former Ukrainian Angelina Lysak, who now plays for Poland. A minute before the end of the fight, Alina was down 6:13, but she showed all her will and sportsmanship and snatched the victory with a score of 16:13," Brovary Mayor Ihor Sapozhko congratulated the athlete on his Telegram channel.

Alina Grushina-Akobiya played her next match in a little over an hour against an experienced American, 2016 Olympic champion Helen Maroulis.

Apparently, our Alina left all her strength and emotions in the first fight, and there was not enough time to recover. Nevertheless, at the end of the fight, our wrestler was still close to a comeback, losing 4:7.
