In the Chornobyl Radiation and Ecological Biosphere Reserve, a camera trap captured a lynx. The animal leads a secretive lifestyle, so such footage is considered rare. This was reported by the Chornobyl Reserve, according to UNN.
The reserve noted that the lynx is a true loner. It spends most of its life alone, hunting and moving through its own territory.
Only during the breeding season does the animal briefly change its habits. The female stays with the kittens until they learn to survive on their own.
The lynx is one of the symbols of wildlife restoration in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Due to minimal human impact, populations of many wild animals, including lynx, wolves, moose, bison, and brown bears, are growing in the reserve.
