In Russia, on the night of May 5, a missile threat was declared in at least 18 regions, including for the first time in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, which is located approximately 2,000 km from the border with Ukraine. According to local officials and social media reports, the alarm signal in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug has already been canceled. At the same time, the aerial threat tonight covered a number of other regions, including Astrakhan, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kurgan, Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg, Orel, Sverdlovsk, Tula, and Chelyabinsk regions, as well as Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Mordovia, and others.
Amidst the threat, flight restrictions were introduced at at least 18 airports, including Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saratov, Ufa, Perm, and Yaroslavl. Some flights were delayed or canceled.
