Recently, the Ministry of Reintegration was reportedly approached by an NGO with a request to help evacuate a girl with a disability from the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk Oblast.
"She lived there with her grandmother, and her mother was in the government-controlled territory of Ukraine. When the grandmother died, the occupiers decided to send the girl to the territory of the Russian Federation - to a boarding school for people with disabilities," the department said.
Representatives of the Ministry of Reintegration in cooperation with the Ukrainian Child Rights Network, Pluriton, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Migration Service took up the task of returning her.
"The preparation of the route and the journey lasted almost 28 days. Currently, Svitlana (the name of the returned girl) and her mother are safe," the Ministry of Reintegration said.
