In Poltava, a conflict broke out between restaurant patrons, resulting in injuries to one of the men. The police officer who was at the scene during the conflict has been suspended from duty for the period of the internal investigation. UNN reports this with reference to the police of Poltava region.
It is reported that on November 2, in the evening, the Poltava District Police Department received a report of a fight in a restaurant in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Poltava.
"During the initial investigative actions, it was preliminarily established that a conflict occurred between the restaurant visitors, as a result of which one of the men sustained injuries," the statement said.
The Investigation Sector of the Poltava District Police Department, under the procedural supervision of the Poltava District Prosecutor's Office, initiated criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 125 (Intentional light bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Currently, the prosecutor's office has determined that the State Bureau of Investigation has jurisdiction over this criminal proceeding. Therefore, the criminal proceedings were sent to the SBI for pre-trial investigation.
"The regional police leadership has also ordered an internal investigation into the incident, during which the disciplinary commission of the Poltava regional police is conducting a thorough check. For the period of the internal investigation, the police officer who was on the scene during the conflict has been suspended from duty. Upon completion of the internal investigation, the regional police management will make appropriate management decisions," the statement said.
