A quarter of the 85 battles on the front since the beginning of today occurred in the Sloviansk direction, and the enemy also acted more actively in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in a statement at 4:00 p.m. on July 2, writes UNN.
Since the beginning of the day, the aggressor has attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 85 times
Artillery shelling of border areas continues. Today, in the Sumy region, the settlements of Korenyok, Ryzhivka, Tovstodubove, and Kysla Dubyna were affected; in the Chernihiv region – Kliusy and Leonivka. The enemy also launched airstrikes on the areas of the settlements of Hodunivka, Hirky, and Vilna Sloboda.
Situation by directions
In the North-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, four combat engagements with the enemy took place. At the same time, the occupiers carried out 25 shellings of the positions of our troops and settlements.
In the South-Slobozhanskyi direction, the invaders tried eleven times to break through the defense in the areas of the settlements of Izbystske, Starytsia, and in the direction of Symynivka and Khatnie, one combat engagement is ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers successfully stopped three attempts by the invaders to advance in the areas of Dibrova, Lyman, and in the direction of Novoselivka, two more combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk direction, the occupiers tried 22 times to advance near Zakitne and towards the settlements of Kryva Luka and Rai-Oleksandrivka, two combat engagements are ongoing.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, our defenders successfully repelled eight attacks near Ivanopillia, Illinivka, and in the direction of Kostiantynivka and Raiske.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, nineteen attempts by the occupiers to push our soldiers from their positions have been recorded in the areas of Rodynske, Dorozhnie, Udachne, Kotlyne, and towards the settlements of Kucheriv Yar, Vilne, Bilytske, Svitle, and Hryshyne, two combat engagements are ongoing.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, two assaults by the occupiers took place. One attack was repelled in the area of Ternove, one battle in the direction of Yehorivka is ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy attacked nineteen times in the areas of Rybne, Huliaipilske, Charivne, and towards Dobropillia, Rizdvianka, Kopany, Shyroke, Tsvitkove, and Novoselivka, five more combat engagements are currently ongoing.
In the Orikhiv, Kupiansk, Kramatorsk, and Dnipro directions, no attempts by the enemy to advance were recorded.
In other directions, no significant changes in the situation are currently occurring.
Ukrainian troops are exhausting the enemy along the entire line of combat contact and in the rear.
