Since the beginning of the day on August 9, 70 combat engagements have taken place at the front. The enemy continues to advance most actively in the Pokrovsk sector. This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22.00 on 09.08.2024, UNN reports .

It is noted that since the beginning of the day, the Russians have launched two missile strikes and 51 air strikes on the territory of Ukraine, dropping 62 drones. In addition, they used 458 kamikaze drones and fired more than 3,300 times at Ukrainian troops' positions and settlements.
In Kharkiv sector, the enemy attacked twice near Vovchansk. As of 22:00, the fighting was still ongoing.
In the Kupyansk sector, a firefight took place near Tabayivka.In the Liman sector, Russians attacked Ukrainian positions near Nevske, Makiivka and in the Serebryansky forest over the course of the day. Defense forces repelled seven attacks, and three more continued.

In the Toretsk sector, Russians attacked Ukrainian troops 12 times: near Bila Hora, Diliyivka, Toretsk and New York. Ten engagements ended and two were ongoing.
In the Pokrovsky sector, 25 combat engagements were registered near Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Zelene Pole, Kalynove, Hrodivka, Zhelanne and Yasnobrodivka since the beginning of the day. Defense forces repelled 17 attacks, eight continued.
According to the updated information of the General Staff, since the beginning of the day, 234 occupants have been neutralized by the Defense Forces in the Pokrovsk sector, 84 of them irreversibly. The Ukrainian army also destroyed an MT-LB armored personnel carrier, two D-30 howitzers, four different types of UAVs and six vehicles. In addition, Ukrainian defenders damaged two tanks, four artillery systems, a 2B9 automatic mortar, one UAV and four vehicles.
In the Kurakhove sector, the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces near Paraskoviivka and Kostiantynivka three times in vain.
In the Vremivsk sector, the enemy launched an offensive toward Vodyane. On the evening of August 9, the attack continued, and the General Staff assured that the situation was under control of Ukrainian defenders.
In the Orikhivsk sector , the enemy unsuccessfully stormed the positions of Ukrainian units near Mala Tokmachka.
In other areas, the situation has not changed much.
