The decision was made after a trial held in Albuquerque, which considered the claim filed by the victim's lawyers in 2020. The defendants in the case were: NuMale Medical Center and company officials.
"This is a case that sets a national record, and it's fair, because I don't think there's room for licensed professionals to cheat patients for money. This is a very blatant violation of their fiduciary duties",
According to the complaint, the man was 66 years old when he visited the clinic in 2017 in search of treatment for fatigue and weight loss. The clinic is accused of misdiagnosing him and unnecessarily treating him with invasive injections for erectile dysfunction, resulting in permanent damage.
Nick Rowley, another lawyer who was part of the plaintiff's team, said an out-of-State Medical Corporation created "a fraudulent scheme to make millions by deceiving the elderly.
Instead, Numele Medical Center President Brad Decalicki said the company is focused on continuing to provide responsible patient care while maintaining strict safety and compliance standards in all its facilities.
"We respect the trial, but due to the ongoing legal proceedings, we cannot now comment on the specific details of the case,"
NuMale also has clinics in Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Nevada, Nebraska, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.
According to court records, the jury found that the defendants ' fraudulent and negligent behavior resulted in damages to the plaintiff. They also found that the defendants ' unfair conduct violated the Unfair Practices Act.
