On Friday, a student opened fire at a secondary school near Bangkok, killing at least five people and injuring more than 20, authorities said. They said that earlier in the morning he had also apparently killed his grandparents at their family home, UNN reports.

Officials said the 14-year-old shooter took his own life at the school.
The shooting, which occurred at around 10 a.m. at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Nonthaburi Province, northwest of Bangkok, killed five school employees, including teachers and administrators, Deputy Interior Minister Polapi Suwunchwi said at the scene.

According to Polapi, the boy also killed his grandparents at the house where he lived with them before the shooting at the school.
Bang Yai Hospital, located approximately 5 kilometers from the school, reported 23 injured people, 10 of whom are in critical condition; most suffered gunshot wounds. Earlier, conflicting casualty figures had been reported.
