President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the military leadership at the border area of Sumy region, opposite the Kursk region of Russia. They discussed the operational situation, strengthening of defense in the Toretsk and Pokrovsk directions and the situation after the start of the Kursk operation, the President said, UNN reports.

"I visited the border area of Sumy region and held a meeting with Commander-in-Chief Syrsky and the head of the Sumy Military Administration.
The Chief of Staff reported on the operational situation in all areas of active operations, and in particular in the toughest areas of the front. He informed about the steps taken to strengthen defense in the Toretsk and Pokrovsk sectors. In certain areas of the Kursk region, one more settlement is under Ukrainian control, and we have replenished the exchange fund.
The head of the RMA reported on the situation in Sumy region after the start of the Kursk operation. There has been a decrease in shelling with small arms and fewer civilian casualties.
Special attention is paid to the coordination of actions between the military, police and the State Emergency Service in the border area, in particular, to organize humanitarian convoys to certain areas of the Kursk region," Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on social media.
