Head of state Volodymyr Zelensky today, December 1, met with the newly elected president of the European Council Antonio Costa, who arrived in Kiev on an unannounced visit. Zelensky announced this in Telegram, reports UNN.

Zelensky said that Antonio Costa arrived in Ukraine on the first day of the new leadership of European institutions. According to him. the leaders discussed a common vision of European and global affairs – "existing problems and prospects".
Such a symbolic start reflects the top priorities for all of us in Europe. Peace is the foundation, and we will do everything in the future to end this war unleashed by Russia as soon as possible, not only against Ukraine, but also against a united Europe, end this war fairly and strengthen our Europe-the institutions of the European Union and the policy of supporting each European country
