Commenting on the adoption of a bill on social protection of the military carrying out Ukrainian defense operations in the Russian border area, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that all payments, bonuses, and awards will definitely be extended to them from the first day of the operation. The Verkhovna Rada voted in favor of the draft law on social protection of Ukrainian military personnel participating in combat operations in the territory of the Russian Federation.
Zelenskiy reported on August 19 that Ukrainian forces control more than 1,250 square kilometers of enemy territory and 92 settlements in the Kursk region.
