U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is turning his attention to Ukraine and the Western Balkans after focusing on Israel's war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. He will participate in a meeting of NATO foreign ministers to be held on November 28-29, AP reports, UNN writes.
After several weeks of intense focus on Israel's war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is turning his attention to Ukraine, NATO and the Western Balkans
It is noted that Blinken has spent much of the last month and a half on the Gaza crisis, making two trips to the Middle East. Now, amid signs that the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which expires on Monday, may be extended, Blinken is heading to Brussels for a meeting of NATO foreign ministers.
In Brussels, the alliance will reportedly reaffirm its support for Ukraine's defense against Russian invasion, explore ways to ease tensions between Kosovo and Serbia, and review preparations for NATO's 75th anniversary next year.
The two-day session on Tuesday and Wednesday will include the first meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council at the level of foreign ministers, a body created by alliance leaders at the last summit to improve cooperation and coordination and prepare Kyiv for NATO membership.
Addendum
NATO ministers will discuss Russia's destabilizing actions and meet with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba, including reforms to enable Ukraine to become a NATO member.
