"Additional resources for defense are critically important to support the state's defenders," the ministry quoted Umerov as saying.

The Minister made the statement during a meeting with representatives of the Council for Support of Entrepreneurship under Martial Law. The main issue discussed was the provision of additional UAH 500 billion in financial resources for defense. 60% of the funds are to be spent on military salaries. Another 40% will be spent on weapons and critical needs of the army, the Defense Ministry said.

"The initiatives of the government and the Ministry of Finance in this matter are extremely important. It is a search for dialogue and deepening of trust and cooperation with business. Our defenders fight for our independence every day. Therefore, the state must provide them with the best conditions and resources to fulfill their duties," Umerov said.

The participants of the meeting agreed to continue the dialogue on the basis of the Verkhovna Rada Committee to find the most effective solutions.
