Ukrainians in July updated the record for the volume of investments in domestic government bonds (DGBs), which include military bonds, the Ministry of Finance reported, writes UNN.
In July 2026, the volume of citizens' investments in DGBs reached another record. As of August 3, 2026, the portfolio of DGBs owned by individuals amounted to UAH 159.3 billion - this is the highest figure in the entire history of the domestic government bond market
As reported, in July alone, citizens' investments increased by more than UAH 9.3 billion.
The total volume of DGBs in circulation amounted to UAH 2 trillion. Banking institutions remain the largest holders of government bonds, with their portfolio growing to UAH 933 billion. Growth in investments was also recorded among legal entities, insurance companies, and non-residents.
In July, the Ministry of Finance held 13 auctions for the placement of DGBs, as a result of which over UAH 40.95 billion in equivalent was raised to the state budget. The weighted average yield of the placed bonds was 12.84%.
In addition, a switch auction of DGBs took place in July. The volume of satisfied bids amounted to UAH 15 billion at nominal value.
Overall, as a result of auctions for the placement of DGBs in January–July 2026, UAH 310.2 billion was raised to the state budget, of which UAH 230 billion was from placement auctions and UAH 80.2 billion from exchange auctions.
