At one of its next meetings, the Verkhovna Rada plans to consider in the first reading a bill that introduces initial general military training for high school students and students of vocational schools by teaching the subject "Defense of Ukraine." This was reported by UNN with reference to the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada meeting.
Details
The draft law provides for the introduction of initial general military training, which is carried out "with the aim of forming primary general military knowledge and special competencies in defense awareness among citizens, familiarizing citizens with the place and role of a citizen in connection with the realization of their duty to armed defense of Ukraine.
Such training will be conducted in general secondary, vocational, pre-university and higher education institutions for high school students and students of vocational schools, through the teaching of the subject "Defense of Ukraine" and the implementation of measures aimed at military and patriotic education.
Curricula for the subject "Defense of Ukraine" will be developed and approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, in coordination with the Ministry of Defense.
