When no one and never will dictate how we should live, how to speak, whom to love, whom to be grateful to, and which heroes to honor
Zelenskyy emphasized that it is about affirming Ukraine's right to independently determine its own historical memory and honor its heroes.
The names of all heroes who, in different centuries and eras, fought for Ukraine, inspired Ukraine, will be united and forever inscribed in our history with a capital letter, with great respect and attention from the state - Ukraine, which respects itself, values its own, and defends its own - its right to be Ukrainians
The fact that the VRU received a new draft law was confirmed by the Chairman of the Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, in a post on his official Facebook page.
A draft law "On the Ukrainian National Pantheon" has been received by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the President of Ukraine. The draft law will be considered by parliament at one of the nearest plenary sessions
What the draft law is about
The document provides for the creation in Kyiv of a nationwide memorial site of the Ukrainian people to honor the most outstanding representatives of the Ukrainian nation. The initiative is based on the centuries-old tradition of Ukrainian nation-building and state-building and is aimed at restoring historical justice, preserving national memory, consolidating society around a common history, as well as forming Ukrainian national and civic identity.
