The youth national football team of Ukraine (U-19) lost to their peers from Germany in the semi-final of the 2026 European Championship, reports UNN.
Details
Despite the fact that Ukraine completely failed the first half, as evidenced by the statistics (8 shots by Germany and 68% ball possession), it was our national team that opened the scoring: Vitaliy Hlyut scored from a pass by Nikita Kalyuzhny.
However, within a minute before the end of the first half, Otto Stange equalized the score on the board.
The second half was marked by an equal fight, with the teams exchanging dangerous moments, but it was the Germans who managed to score a goal through Francis Onyeka, who put his team ahead a few seconds before the end of the match.
Thus, the German national team will face the Spanish national team in the Euro final, which will take place on July 11. It is worth noting that the teams already met in the group stage, and then the Spaniards turned out to be stronger - 4:0.
At the same time, in the match for 5th-6th places, the Danish national team beat the Italian team in a penalty shootout and secured a ticket to the 2027 World Cup.
