Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba took part in a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Group of Seven countries and partners dedicated to the protection and strengthening of the Ukrainian energy system for the winter period. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to UNN.

It is noted that the meeting, convened by the US and the Japanese G7 presidency, was attended by the G7 countries, as well as Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, the leadership of the EBRD, UNDP, the World Bank, the International Renewable Energy Agency IRENA, and the European Energy Community.
Kuleba told the Western partners about Ukraine's preparations for winter, defense against Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, strengthening air defense and protecting the energy system.

Ukraine has already made a lot of efforts to prepare for the winter period and counter Russian terror threats to our energy system. Today we are better prepared for winter than last year. We are deeply grateful to our international partners who are actively helping us with this. We now face two key tasks: further strengthening Ukraine's air defense and providing energy equipment for our power grid

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister also reminded the West that strengthening air defense is the best way to enhance the protection of Ukraine's critical infrastructure from Russian strikes.
According to Dmytro Kuleba, the second priority is to provide energy equipment, including additional transformers, gas turbines, and other equipment necessary for the prompt restoration and strengthening of Ukraine's energy system.

The department added that during the meeting, a number of countries and organizations announced their readiness to provide additional equipment and funding to protect and strengthen the Ukrainian energy system during the winter.
