Ukraine calls on Venezuela to comply with the legally binding order of the International Court of Justice and to refrain from any actions that will change the situation in the Essequibo region. This is stated in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, UNN reports.
Details
The Ministry emphasizes that on December 1, 2023, the International Court of Justice issued an order for the application of provisional measures in the case of the Arbitral Award of October 3, 1899 (Guyana v. Venezuela).
The order obliges Venezuela to refrain from any action that would change the situation in the Essequibo region, and both parties to refrain from any action that could aggravate or expand the dispute or complicate its resolution.
