Ukraine and Poland signed a memorandum of cooperation in the energy sector, including the development of joint programs and projects to restore energy infrastructure damaged by the war, climate-neutral technologies, distributed generation, gas and oil transportation, energy security through market integration and the development of interstate crossings.

Ukraine and Poland have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the energy sector, the Energy Ministry reported on March 28, UNN reported.

As indicated, within the framework of Ukrainian-Polish government consultations, Deputy Energy Minister of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk met in Warsaw with Minister of Climate and Natural Resources of Poland Paulina Hennig-Kloska and Special Commissioner for Strategic Energy Infrastructure Projects Maciej Bando.

"The parties discussed joint steps to respond to the destruction of energy infrastructure as a result of Russian shelling and signed a memorandum of cooperation between the countries in the energy sector," the ministry said.

"The document envisages the development of joint programs and projects of common interest aimed at restoring the energy infrastructure damaged by the war, and steps to integrate energy markets more. We thank Poland for its readiness to create conditions that will facilitate the participation of Polish companies in the restoration of the energy sector of Ukraine," said Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk.

The memorandum, in particular, envisages joint work in the areas of developing climate-neutral technologies, distributed generation, transportation of natural gas and oil products, the Ministry of Energy said.

Particular attention is paid to energy security through market integration and the development of climate-neutral generation, the formation of projects of common interest, and the development of interstate crossings.
