Two contractors embezzled 3.7 million hryvnias to restore the energy infrastructure of Odesa region after enemy shelling. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, UNN reports .
Under the procedural supervision of the Odesa Region Prosecutor's Office, the directors of two contractors were served notices of suspicion of misappropriation of state funds and forgery (Part 5 Art. 191, Part 1 Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),
Details
According to the investigation, the suspects seized state funds allocated for the restoration of the region's energy infrastructure, which was damaged by enemy shelling last winter.
It is noted that NPC Ukrenergo, in order to eliminate the consequences of rocket attacks, entered into an agreement with a contractor for the construction and installation of electrical equipment. Under the contract, it was necessary to dismantle and move two autotransformers to replace the damaged ones and connect them.
As a subcontractor for rail transportation, the contractor engaged a previously acquainted director of a logistics company with whom it had a freight forwarding agreement.
The suspects, knowing for certain that the autotransformers had already been transported through the territory of Odesa region, entered false information in the acts of work performed regarding the cost of their transportation and international transportation services, which were not actually performed.
As a result of these actions, the state-owned enterprise suffered more than UAH 3.7 million in losses. Currently, the court has filed motions to impose a preventive measure on the suspects.
