According to the Bavarian police, on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 17:20 local time, the operations center of the southern police department of Upper Bavaria received news of two seriously injured men in Murnau, Burggraben district. The emergency services immediately called to the scene found that one of the men had died from his injuries. The second man, who was initially found in critical condition, also died despite receiving prompt medical attention.
"As part of the immediately initiated search operations, a 57-year-old suspect was found and detained at his home address near the crime scene that evening. The suspect is a Russian citizen. The victims are Ukrainian citizens aged 23 and 36. They both lived in the Harmisch-Partenkirchen district," the state police said.
Based on the available data in the case, the Main Prosecutor's Office filed a motion for the arrest of the 57-year-old suspect. On April 28, he will be presented before the investigating judge of the competent district court to decide on his detention.
