President Zelenskyy held a meeting with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Drapatyi on the defense of Kostiantynivka and Sloviansk. They discussed strengthening air defense and long-range strikes, including against the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he discussed with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi the defense of Kostiantynivka, Sloviansk and Donetsk region in general, and that there is an understanding of how to strengthen the area; negotiations with the United States on anti-ballistic defense and long-range strikes were also discussed, UNN writes.

Defense of Donetsk region

"There was a report by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi. We focused particularly on the issues of defending Kostiantynivka, Sloviansk and Donetsk region in general. I am grateful to all the units that are fully carrying out their combat missions, repelling Russian assaults, eliminating ‘infiltrations’ and consistently destroying the occupiers. There is an understanding of how to strengthen the area," Zelenskyy wrote on social media.

Long-range strikes

"We discussed tasks concerning long-range sanctions against Russia for the war. Good results have been achieved at the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery. We are continuing the relevant operations," Zelenskyy said.

Strengthening air defense

"Mykhailo also reported on work concerning anti-ballistic defense — on his communication with the American side. We are working at all levels to obtain packages of missiles for air defense. All partners know what is necessary and how this affects not only saving lives and protecting our cities, but also Russia’s attitude toward diplomacy. The more Putin believes in his reliance on ballistic missiles, the less inclined he will be to respond positively to diplomatic proposals. Therefore, strengthening Ukraine’s defense is a direct investment in diplomacy," the President emphasized.

Personnel issues in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

"We also discussed with the Commander-in-Chief personnel issues in the Armed Forces of Ukraine that need to be resolved. Glory to Ukraine!" Zelenskyy noted.
