The United States has imposed sanctions against two leaders of the Cyber Army of Russia Reborn (CARR) cybercrime group, which conducts operations against critical infrastructure facilities around the world. This was reported by UNN with reference to a statement by the US Treasury Department.

Today, the United States imposed sanctions on Yulia Pankratova and Denis Degtyarenko, two members of the Russian hacker group Cyber Army of Russia Reborn (CARR), for their role in cyber operations against critical U.S. infrastructure
The US Treasury Department also emphasizes that the defendants are directly in charge of the group. Accordingly, Pankratova is the leader of the group, and Degtyarenko is the main hacker.
The agency explains that CARR's activities target critical infrastructure and "pose an unacceptable threat to our citizens and our communities with potentially dangerous consequences.

Since 2022, CARR has been conducting DDoS attacks in Ukraine and other Western countries. At the end of 2023, CARR began attacking the industrial control systems of several critical infrastructure facilities in the United States and Europe.
In particular, manipulations were carried out with the equipment of industrial control systems at water supply, hydropower, sewerage and energy facilities.
