The law adopted in the Russian Federation on the deprivation of citizenship of new citizens for lack of military registration will not have a large-scale impact on mobilization in the country, according to a new report by the British Ministry of defense based on intelligence, writes UNN.

On July 31 , the Kremlin adopted a law, according to which military registration will take place immediately after a man receives a Russian passport. When checking, if there is no specific surname in the information of military enlistment offices, a procedure for revoking citizenship will be introduced.
British intelligence believes that after the signing of this law, the practical consequences for Russian conscription will probably not be significant, although independent Russian media continue to report that law enforcement agencies pursue migrants, including for the purpose of enlisting in the army, and this law provides another form of legal coercion in this matter.
This law should also be considered in the context of the growing anti-migrant sentiment fueled by some members of the Russian government, especially against people from Central Asia. These sentiments and rhetoric have increased markedly since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, presumably as part of an attempt to create additional sources of government legitimacy in the face of heavy losses and declining living standards
