The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a resolution calling on foreign states, international organizations and parliamentary assemblies to condemn the illegal so-called "presidential elections" in the temporarily occupied territories of the Russian Federation. This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, UNN reports.
The Parliament appealed to the governments and parliaments of foreign countries, international organizations, and parliamentary assemblies in connection with the holding of the Russian "presidential elections" on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. FOR- 282
According to him, the Council calls for:
1) condemn the actions of the Russian Federation in organizing and conducting the so-called "presidential elections" on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine;
2) counteract Russia's attempts to engage international observers to legitimize the so-called "presidential elections" in the TOT;
3) increase sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation and apply or strengthen personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) against officials and citizens of the Russian Federation involved in organizing and conducting illegal "presidential elections" in the TOT;
4) to consolidate the efforts of all Ukraine's partners to increase assistance to the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine by providing the necessary military assistance to strengthen its defense capabilities and help restore Ukraine's territorial integrity within its internationally recognized state border;
5) to take an active part in the implementation of the Presidential Peace Formula (Ukrainian Peace Formula) and in the inaugural Global Peace Summit.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that the "elections" of the President of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine are illegal and will not have any legal consequences, and called on citizens not to participate in them, and on the international community not to recognize their results.
