Thai parliamentarians announced on Thursday that they are nominating 37-year-old Petongtharn Shinawatra for prime minister. Lawmakers will vote in parliament on Friday.

Petongtharn Chinawatra is the daughter of billionaire political heavyweight Thaksin Shinawatra. She is the leader of Pheu Thai, the largest party in the interim government. Earlier, the Constitutional Court dismissed Sretta Thavisin for violating Thai ethical standards.
