Tennis player Elina Svitolina will carry the flag of Ukraine at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games. She announced this in an interview. The opening ceremony of the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games will take place on Friday, July 26, at 20:30.

Elina Svitolina will become the third Ukrainian woman to be entrusted with carrying the national flag. During the Beijing 2008 Olympics, the flag was carried by swimmer Yana Klochkova. In Tokyo in 2021, it will be Olympic pistol champion Olena Kostevych.
