In Odesa region, law enforcement officers detained a military officer and his accomplice who brought two armored vehicles to Ukraine as humanitarian aid, but planned to sell them for $18,000. They were detained while selling the vans. UNN reports this with reference to the regional police.

Details

The soldier and his friend reportedly imported two armored vehicles under a simplified procedure as humanitarian aid for a charity organization from Cherkasy region. And despite the ban on the sale of humanitarian aid, the dealers found a buyer

It is noted that the man wanted to buy armored minibuses for his own needs, including for further free transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The criminals were detained by the police while selling two armored Volkswagen TRANSPORTERs and making financial payments.

The detainees were notified of suspicion for selling humanitarian aid. They face imprisonment for a term of five to seven years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and confiscation of property.

It is also reported that the police are checking the involvement of the head of the charitable organization, for the "use" of which the sold vehicles were imported from abroad, in the fraud. The issue of choosing a measure of restraint for the suspects is being decided.
