Customs and law enforcement officers found a smuggled batch of Apple equipment worth more than UAH 7 million at a checkpoint on the border with Hungary, UNN reports citing the State Customs Service of Ukraine.

At the Luzhanka-Beregsurany checkpoint on the border with Hungary , based on information from the Security Service of Ukraine, Transcarpathian customs officers prevented the illegal import of 162 Apple 15 and Apple 16 smartphones into Ukraine.
The violator of customs legislation was a citizen of Ukraine who had masterfully “packed” his Toyota Land Cruiser SUV with smuggled equipment and tried to cross the customs border of Ukraine through the “green corridor”.
The driver was sent a report on violation of customs rules under the article of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The smuggled goods, the total value of which exceeds UAH 7 million on the domestic market, were seized from the offender, along with the vehicle in which the goods were hidden.
Customs officers also prepare reports to law enforcement agencies on the presence of signs of a criminal offense under the article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

In Chernivtsi region, a group of people systematically imported clothes and accessories of well-known brands into Ukraine without paying taxes. During the searches, illegally imported goods worth about UAH 6 million were seized.
