The service for processing the one-time assistance "School Student Package" for families of first-graders is currently unavailable in the "Diia" application. The service is at the stage of development and preparation for launch, reports UNN with reference to the Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Valeriia Koval.
Details
It noted that they understand the expectations of parents, but have not yet named an exact date for the service's launch.
Currently, the financial assistance service for first-grade students "School Student Package" is still at the stage of development and preparation for launch. The "Diia" team, together with partners, is doing everything possible to make the service available in the near future, and the application process as simple and fast as possible in a few clicks
The developers emphasized that the start of the service's operation will be announced separately on official pages.
What you need to know about the new service
After the launch of the service, one of the parents or another legal representative of a child enrolled in the first grade of a Ukrainian educational institution in the 2026/2027 academic year will be able to receive a one-time payment in the amount of 5,000 hryvnias.
The assistance will be assigned separately for each first-grader. The funds will not be taken into account in the total family income when determining the right to a housing subsidy or other types of social support.
It is expected that an application can be submitted through the mobile application "Diia" or in person at a service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine. For electronic processing, information about the child's enrollment in the first grade must be entered by the school into the state educational system.
The funds will be paid in non-cash form to a special account, in particular one linked to the "Diia.Card". The assistance can be used to purchase school supplies, books, children's clothing and footwear. The possibility of making a payment will depend on the category of the retail outlet and its bank MCC code.
An application to receive the payment in 2026 must be submitted by November 1. Possible grounds for refusal include submitting documents after the established deadline, a repeated application by another parent, lack of confirmation of the child's start of studies, or the child's permanent residence abroad.
Reminder
The Ministry of Social Policy is introducing a single card for child care assistance, eNurseries and packages. An application for payments can be submitted through the "Diia" application.
