It is noted that the meeting between Scholz and Xi will take place on April 16 as part of the German politician's four-day visit to China. This is Scholz's second visit to China as German Chancellor.
First, on April 14, he will arrive in the Chinese city of Chongqing to visit a hydrogen plant operated by a German company, and the next day he will travel to Shanghai to give a speech.
The talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang will take place on April 16 in Beijing, Gebestreit said.
According to him, the German politician will talk with Chinese representatives about the war in Ukraine, in particular, the chancellor "wants to explore to what extent Beijing can influence Russia and its conduct of the war in Ukraine.
