Russia's tool: Duda reacts to Orban's "peacekeeping mission" in Moscow

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has reacted to the words of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Obran, who said on the day of his visit to Moscow that  Budapest would be "an important tool to make the first step towards peace" in Ukraine.  Tusk wondered in whose "hands this instrument is", UNN reports.

On Friday morning, Prime Minister Orban published a post on social networking site X stating that "peace cannot be established from a comfortable chair in Brussels. And  even if the rotating EU presidency has no mandate to negotiate on behalf of the EU, "we cannot sit back and wait for the war to miraculously end.

 "We will serve as an important tool to take the first steps on the road to peace. This is our peacekeeping mission," Orban wrote.

Orban's visit to Moscow was criticized by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, among others. He  wrote on the social network X: 

Orban Prime Minister Orban is on his way to Moscow: "We will be an important tool to make the first step towards peace." The question is in whose hands this instrument is.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also reacted to Orban's visit to Moscow. On social networking site X, he pointed out the EU's clear position on Russia.

"Viktor Orban is going to see Putin as Hungarian Prime Minister. The European Council on Foreign Affairs will be represented by Charles Michel.

The EU's position is very clear: we condemn Russia's aggressive war. Ukraine can count on our support," Scholz wrote.
