The results of the analysis of the wreckage of the Oreshnyk medium-range ballistic missile, which russia used to attack Dnipro on November 21, show that the missile was manufactured in 2017 and is not a "new" development of the russian federation. This was reported by Defense Express analysts, UNN reports .
Details
It is noted that a serial number and production date of April 12, 2017 were found on one of the Oreshnik parts. And the fact that this missile uses a part that is more than 7 years old directly indicates that this particular Oreshnyk was assembled in 2017-2018. And it was from that time that the missile itself was lying in a warehouse somewhere.
Analysts note that the start of mass production of the RS-26 Rubizh missile, which is likely to be called Oreshnik, was planned back in 2017. However, in March 2018, Russia announced that it would stop supplying it to the army. This also means that the development of the Oreshnik began much earlier, as 2017 was the year of production of a specific part. But the design of this missile apparently began in the early 2010s, if not earlier.
Defense Express also found that the index of the found part - "EFIT 302811.002 is associated with the Russian rocket and space enterprise NPTSAP named after Academician N.A. Pilyugin, part of Roscosmos.
According to analysts, the company develops control systems for missile systems such as Zenit, Proton-M, and Fregat upper stages.
It is known that the NPCAO developed a control system for the Topol-M intercontinental missile. We also managed to find a reference to the control system for the upper stage EFIT.373868.064 for the russian Ministry of Defense. It appears in the decision of the moscow Region Arbitration Court No. A41-96126/22 of July 21, 2023. It was intended for the space head part of the product with the index 14P422 (the name could not be found)
Thus, everything points to the fact that the NPCAA is responsible for supplying the control equipment, the entire missile, or the warhead separation unit or the last stage of this missile to the Oreshnyk.
Recall
russian dictator vladimir putin said that on November 21, russia struck the Dnipro River with a "ballistic missile with a non-nuclear hypersonic warhead" of medium range. It was believed that an intercontinental ballistic missile was used. Later it turned out that the strike was carried out by another weapon, namely the new Oreshnik ballistic missile. putin also said that Ukraine "has no means" to counter the new Oreshnik missiles.
