The Saratov oil refinery in Russia has stopped processing oil due to damage caused by a drone attack. Two informed sources told Reuters, reports UNN.

Details

As noted, on Wednesday, Saratov region governor Roman Busargin reported that as a result of a drone strike on the region, one person was killed and several others were injured. He also reported damage to "civilian industrial facilities," without specifying which ones. At the same time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a hit on the Saratov oil refinery.

Reuters sources claim that the drones struck the primary processing unit CDU-6 with a capacity of 20,000 metric tons per day. This is the only such unit at this refinery.

Journalists also noted that the Saratov oil refinery has stopped selling petroleum products on the St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange.

As the publication emphasizes, the plant had already suspended operations after drone attacks in March and May.

The capacity of the Saratov refinery is about 5.8 million tons of oil, or 2.2% of the total oil refining volume in Russia.
