Law enforcement officers have served a notice of suspicion to the director of a utility company who signed a contract for the overhaul of Molodizhnyi Park in Kyiv with an inflated cost of materials of more than UAH 614,000. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, UNN reports.
Under the procedural supervision of the Desnianskyi District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, the Director of the Municipal Enterprise for Maintenance of Green Areas of Desnianskyi District was served a notice of suspicion of official negligence (Part 2 Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)
According to the investigation, in the fall of 2022, the utility company paid for the overhaul of the Molodizhnyi Park in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv, which included the cost of construction materials at a significantly inflated price.
Subsequently, the director of the utility company, without checking the average market value of construction materials, signed a contract with the company for the overhaul of Molodizhny Park.
"During the investigation, it was found that the cost of crushed stone and gravel was overstated by more than UAH 614 thousand, despite the fact that the total value of the contract was just over UAH 2 million," the prosecutor's office said.
The issue of choosing a measure of restraint for the director of the utility company is currently being decided. He faces imprisonment for up to 5 years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years and a fine of up to 750 tax-free minimum incomes.
The investigation is ongoing.
