The Verkhovna Rada passed bill No. 11271, which approved an updated procedure for a military funeral ritual at the National Military Memorial Cemetery, MP Yevhenia Kravchuk said on Thursday, UNN reports.
Details
"Together with my colleagues, we are updating the legislation on the funeral ritual at the National Military Memorial Cemetery. Today, we voted for the draft law No. 11271 as a basis and as a whole," Kravchuk said on Telegram.
According to her, the procedure is as follows: "The salute team salutes with three volleys of blank cartridges. With the first salute, the drummer and the bugler perform the signal for the salute "Shana"...".
According to her, the draft law regulates the following issues:
- List of persons who can be buried with honors at the National Military Cemetery;
- The procedure for the post office during the burial of a fallen serviceman in a special ceremony.
According to her, the wording of the Humanitarian and Information Policy Committee added important points:
- the possibility of burial for police officers killed in the war at the National Military Cemetery;
- placement in the cemetery of a symbolic grave that does not contain a body or an urn - a cenotaph built to preserve the memory of the deceased;
- the ceremony for the presentation of military honors was clarified.
"Thanks to this law, the first Heroes can be buried in the memorial cemetery this year," Kravchuk said.
Addendum
The government has recently approved the forms of tombstones at the National Military Memorial Cemetery.
"There will be two forms of tombstones - in the form of a cross and a slab with a rounding in the upper part. The cross and the slab at the Navy Yard will have the same height and repeat each other's outlines," the Ministry of Veterans told.
