Alexandru Munteanu announced the end of his term as Prime Minister of Moldova. He explained the decision by his inability to fulfill the mandate in accordance with his own principles.

Prime Minister of Moldova Alexandru Munteanu announced his resignation, reports UNN.

Today I am ending my term as Prime Minister. I accepted the offer to become Prime Minister with great responsibility and a firm belief that I could contribute to changing the situation for the better. As soon as I realized that I could no longer fulfill my mandate in accordance with my principles and convictions, I decided to leave.

He stated that he would continue "to serve his country in any position, regardless of where I live or what duties I have, whether in the public or private sector."
