The Polish Foreign Minister has called on the EU to lift restrictions on the use of long-range weapons by Ukraine. This is reported by PAP, according to UNN.
Detail
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has called on his European counterparts in Brussels to lift restrictions on the use of long-range weapons transferred to Ukraine. In his speech during a meeting of EU justice ministers, Sikorski emphasized that “self-defense is completely legal” under international law.
Sikorsky said that Ukraine should be able to prevent Russian attacks, such as the recent shelling of a children's cancer hospital in Kyiv, by destroying aircraft that launch cruise missiles and attacks on airports. He noted that protecting medical facilities is not an escalation of the conflict.
In addition, Sikorski said that he proposed to organize an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in late August in Ukraine, particularly in Lviv. The head of Polish diplomacy emphasized that this decision could be a sign of solidarity with Ukraine.
I have proposed a compromise solution: the Council should be held in Ukraine. This would be a sign of our solidarity with the country
