Police in Ternopil have identified and detained two criminals who were setting fire to Ukrzaliznytsia's special equipment regulating train traffic and traffic lights on the tracks for a monetary reward. They received payment for these crimes through crypto-wallets, probably with the use of russian special services.
According to the information, the criminals, aged 20 and 17, set fire to a relay cabinet near a railroad crossing in the village of Shlyakhtyntsi in order to stop the movement of trains.
The senior offender received an "order" to destroy railway equipment via messenger from an unknown person. He involved his minor friend in the execution of this plan. After the arson, they filmed the results of their activities on a cell phone and sent them to the customer. For this, they were paid 9 thousand hryvnias via crypto wallets.
During the searches of their homes, material evidence was found, including the clothes and shoes they used during the crimes, screwdrivers, and cell phones with correspondence with the "customer".

Both suspects were served a notice of suspicion under various articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and the issue of serving a notice of suspicion to the 20-year-old offender for involving a minor in illegal activities is being considered. The suspect was chosen as a measure of restraint in the form of detention, and his minor accomplice was imposed a personal commitment.
