The second hottest point in the country on Sunday was Toruń, where the temperature reached 40.3°C. This figure also needs to be confirmed by meteorologists.
The previous absolute temperature record on the territory of modern Poland was set on July 29, 1921, in Prószków near Opole, when thermometers showed 40.2°C. Before that, the highest temperature in the 21st century was 39.5°C, recorded in Słubice in July 1994.
